Here is a shot of the same 4412 carburetor after being not only rebuilt but also recalibrated for racing use. Carburetors such as this one(Phase 2 prep.) are cleaned, all parts are inspected. Boosters are removed and the venturi is sized to the maximum allowable but still gauge legal size WITHOUT removing the all important casting line around the circumfrence of the venturi. New boosters which are selected to work with the metering package are installed and then placed by flow testing the carburetor to find the "sweet spot" in each venturi. The carburetor body is also tumbled and then recolored to both improve apearance AND to protect the carburetor from corrosion. High quality parts are used in all areas of the carburetor build, needle and seat, float, accelerator pump, new hardware. Throttle shafts are machined and rebushed for proper fit and idle control(a step that's performed even when a new carburetor core is used). The result is a carburetor that runs as good as it looks and looks as good as it runs!
